I Need A Hero

Minimize
Meet the long-term residents of PAWS Atlanta. Each of these special pets has been waiting patiently for his or her loving, forever home for over a year. Some are shy, require special food, need specific home environments, but each of them has qualities that will undoubtedly make you smile: Bonita’s sweet playfulness, Evan’s intellect, Punky’s curiosity.

All of these pets have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, are current on all vaccinations. The dogs have also received basic obedience training. Read more about them on our Available Dogs page.

If you are 65 or older and you adopt a cat or a dog who is seven years or older, you will receive a 25% discount off the adoption fee. You will also receive 10% off all medications sold at PAWS Atlanta. Photo ID is required, please.

Bonita

Minimize
Bonita was found roaming as a stray when she was three years old. She was in bad shape and almost furless, but the staff knew there was a beautiful dog underneath, so they named her “Bonita”. She has grown into a hilarious, fun-loving girl. Bonita is housebroken and knows some basic commands. She gets along well with most other dogs and enjoys eating fruit. She has a dinnertime dance complete with spins in the air, she snores with the best of them and she prances like a show dog. She snorts like a pig when exploring, and she “smothers” you to get attention. In other words, she has a BIG personality and there is never a dull moment when you are in Bonita’s company.

Bonita was recently featured in the “Take Me Home” segment on Pet Life Radio with Susan Daffron.

Evan

Minimize
Evan came to the shelter as a stray when he was a six-month-old puppy. Even with the love and attention from our staff and volunteers, a shelter is a hard place for a pup to grow up. He needs someone who can show him the world and teach him how to be part of it. He is one of the most intelligent dogs to ever strut the property of PAWS Atlanta. If you gave him a typewriter and a “dog-to-human” dictionary, he might write the next Great American Novel. He has the temperament of a teenage boy; he just needs a little love and discipline. With plenty of exercise and training, he will be an incredible companion.
