PAWS Atlanta Pet Pal Program

Have you fallen in love with a dog or cat that you saw at PAWS Atlanta or on our website, but cannot adopt the pet right now? You can still support the care of a dog or cat by becoming a PAWS Atlanta Pet Pal!

For a minimum donation of $20 per month, you can help to defray the cost of the animal's care. You can choose to make a one time or recurring donation. Your name will be listed by the picture and description of the cat or dog! Plus, your donation is tax-deductible.

If your Pet Pal is adopted, we will notify you so that you can choose another cat or dog to support via the Pet Pal program.

We currently have over 30 cats and dogs who do not have Pet Pals. Can you help us so that every PAWS Atlanta dog or cat has a Pet Pal?

Each year, over 4 million animals are euthanized in shelters across the country. PAWS Atlanta strives to reduce the problem of pet overpopulation by spaying/neutering our shelter animals and offering low-cost spay/neuters for the public. By making a tax-deductible contribution to the PAWS Atlanta Spay/Neuter Fund, you are helping to alleviate the terrible consequence of pet overpopulation.

PAWS Atlanta typically receives 80% of the auction price.

These tax-deductible donations enable PAWS Atlanta to run the shelter day-to-day andsupport the operations of PAWS Atlanta. It is these donations on which we rely primarily to provide love, medical care, nutrition and shelter for animals in our care.

Become a Member

PAWS Atlanta Membership Program

Membership contributions are the basis on which we build our foundation to provide quality care for our pets while they wait to find safe, loving homes. Your participation and tax-deductible donation enhances our ability to help the pets that come to us in need.

We offer several levels of membership and each donation helps us to care for the animals in our care.

The Best Friend Membership is $25. This membership can cover a microchip, the first round of shots and a rabies vaccination for a puppy or kitten.

The Bronze Paw Membership is $50. This membership will cover the cost of a spay or neuter surgery for a dog or cat.

The Silver Paw Membership is $100. This membership covers the cost of a heartworm test, vaccinations and a spay/neuter procedure for a dog or puppy. Or, it will cover the cost of spaying/neutering, vaccinations and one month of flea/tick preventative for a cat or kitten.

The Gold Paw Membership is $250. This amount allows us to spay/neuter 5 dogs and cats. Over 650 dogs and cats are put down at higher kill shelters in Georgia each day. Spaying and neutering is imperative to reducing this horrific number.

The Platinum Paw Membership is $500. PAWS Atlanta can fully vaccinate and provide flea and tick preventative for 15 dogs and cats. Or, we can spay/neuter 10 shelter pets so they are ready for adoption.

The Guardian Angel Membership is $1000. As the average cost to care for a single dog or cat during their time at PAWS Atlanta is $750, this membership level is both generous and very much appreciated.

Save Our Pets Food Bank

Save Our Pets Food Bank

PAWS Atlanta is a drop off and distribution center for the Save Our Pets Food Bank. Since July 2008, Save Our Pets Food Bank has helped over 700 families and 1000 pets. Because PAWS Atlanta is continually releasing bags and cans of pet food to owners who have fallen on hard financial times but who still want to feed and care for their companions animals, we are in constant need of cans and bags of dog and cat food. Please bring your unopened pet food donations to PAWS Atlanta. We can supply you with an in-kind tax receipt at the front desk. Thank you for your help!

Help Me Heal Fund

Help Me Heal Fund

The Help Me Heal Fund was established to provide for animals who need extra, often more expensive, medical or nutritional care. For instance, Itsy, who is pictured here, was surrendered to us by a good Samaritan who found her in a dirty towel near an abandoned trailer. She was hypothermic, malnourished and very sick. The vet techs gave her medicine and saline and revived here. She was cared for at the shelter until she gained weight, recovered from her illnesses and was ready to be adopted. Itsy found a loving home and has the life she deserves! Stories like Itsy's are too common, unfortunately. Many times these animals will be euthanized in higher kill shelters. PAWS Atlanta tries to help as many pets as we can, and the Help Me Heal Fund allows us to do so.
